Every market on ip.world starts with a Trend — the canonical page for an idea, a meme, a brand, a movement. Each Trend can have one or more Tokens underneath it. The Trend’s type determines how fees are routed, who controls what, and how verification works. All tokens under the same Trend share the same type. There are two types: Creator and Community.

Creator-type

For cultural phenomena tied to a specific person, brand, or source. Think: a YouTuber, a character, an artist, a brand account.
  • A verified owner receives a direct cut of trading fees (the IP Owner share).
  • The owner gets a crown badge, a vested allocation, and control over their Trend page.
  • Verification requires proving you are the creator or an authorized representative.

Community-type

For emergent, community-driven culture. Think: a meme with no single origin, a movement, a collective bit.
  • There is no single owner. The IP Owner fee share flows into the community treasury instead.
  • The treasury unlocks when the token graduates — a bonding curve milestone.
  • Holders vote on how treasury funds are spent.
  • Verification roles are community_lead or community_member.

Fee distribution

The fee split is the same structure for both types. Every token’s LP holds two assets — $IP and the meme token — and each side splits differently.

$IP side

  • 50% → Protocol
  • 25% → LP Re-Add
  • 10% → IP Owner
  • 10% → UGC Creators
  • 5% → Referrer

Meme side

  • 60% → Community Treasury
  • 30% → Token Holders
  • 10% → UGC Creators
The only difference: on creator-type tokens, the 10% IP Owner share goes directly to the verified owner’s wallet. On community-type tokens, that same 10% flows into the community treasury.

Choosing at launch

You pick the type when creating a new Trend. If you’re launching a token under an existing Trend, the type is already set — you don’t get to change it.
  • Pick Creator if there’s a clear owner who should receive fees and control the page.
  • Pick Community if the culture belongs to everyone and should be collectively governed.
